Thursday July 30…

Well I guess so far so good. The first day of radiation I had to be there by 2pm and they didn’t take me back until 2:45pm and I wasn’t done until 3:45pm so it was a long painful day. When I got home I just wanted to be alone so I decided I’d cookContinue reading “Thursday July 30…”

Tuesday July 28…

Well tomorrow is the BIG day. I start whole brain, jaw and sacrum XRT. I have no idea what to expect which is making things even worse. With Chemo I knew I’d feel like shit for a few days and then better and with Breast XRT I knew there would be some redness to theContinue reading “Tuesday July 28…”

Sunday July 26…

I have no idea where to begin. Last we left off I was meeting with my Oncologist and Radiation Oncologist. So the plan is to start Wednesday with whole brain XRT (Radiation) which includes the base of skull and right orbit, added the left jaw and sacrum area since those are the areas that IContinue reading “Sunday July 26…”

Thursday July 23…

Over the last 3-4 days my pain has been getting so bad, in my ankles, knees, sacrum, left jaw and base of neck. I was able to have a video appointment on Tuesday with the Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner who was amazing and explained to me that bone mets are very painful and that explainsContinue reading “Thursday July 23…”

Monday July 20

All I can say is shitty day. The only good thing about today is that my mom is here!! It is so nice to have her, even though she has to self quarantine. I met with Kate (Radiation Oncologist) and Gordon Li (Neurosurgery). The decision has been made that I’ll be getting whole brain radiationContinue reading “Monday July 20”

Almost Monday 7/20…

I’m just having lots of thoughts and can’t sleep. I’m trying to, but I can’t. Not only do I have lots in my head but for sure lots of questions for tomorrow. So I guess I’ll be back after a lot of food.

Saturday 7/18

So, it has been several days since I’ve blogged and I was trying to wait until I had all the answers but I know that will take too long. Last we left off I was having my PET/CT done. Well, I can confirm it’s in all the places that we saw on the Brain MRI:Continue reading “Saturday 7/18”

Quick update from Jen

Jen did get a brain MRI this past Tuesday and then the PET/CT today. She is hoping to see the neurosurgery team tomorrow to discuss Cyberknife for brain METS and will post an update later today or early tomorrow. Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts.

The Journey Begins…

On Wednesday 7/8/2020 at 11 a.m., I had a CT with contrast on my head/neck area which the ENT doctor had ordered to figure out my numb chin. Then at 4pm, the phone rang and it was the doctor asking, “Is this a good time to talk?”, which I knew was not a good sign.Continue reading “The Journey Begins…”
