Update…

I apologize for this post being late. I’ve been wanting to get on and post an update. As I mentioned in my last post, I was having my vocal cord surgery on 3/22. Well, I got there bright and early, did all the pre-op stuff, and waited for my turn. So my Dad and Mark have commented a few times that my voice sounds better but I didn’t much of it. When my surgeon came in to see me before surgery, that was the first thing he noticed, my voice. He said, “your voice sounds good, let me get the scope and take a look at your vocal cords”. Then he mentioned that there is a chance that my paralyzed cord could actually move positions to where we want it to be. Well, he never told me that and at the time I scheduled the surgery, my voice was bad again. He put the scope up my nose and down my throat and had me make a few sounds as we both looked at my vocal cords on the TV and he said, wow look at that! My cords were almost touching in the center when I talked. So he decided that what he was going to do would be the same outcome and might even make things worse so we cancelled the surgery. He did tell me, before rushing off, that there is still the chance that my vocal cord will become paralyzed again and at that point we can do surgery. GREAT news, no surgery for me, yet!!!! I’ll take it.

Nothing much really going on. Same shit, different day!! My brother, Mike’s, birthday was on Friday 3/27 which of course we had a few FT calls wishing him a happy day and singing to him. It has been in the 80’s since Saturday which of course I love and have been trying to walk daily.
