One year!!!!
I cannot believe that this day last year I was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer. It is hard for me not to think back to how sick I was when I was starting treatment.
- I could barely walk around the block, now I can walk 2-3 miles.
- I had right sided weakness, is now 90%+ better.
- I’d throw up just because, I wouldn’t even feel it coming; in the car, in the bushes and lots of other places which is now under control.
- I had horrible mouth sores from radiation and chemo made them worse, my appetite was horrible, it’s not much better.
- I was so tired that I’d fall asleep mid conversation with people, now I only nap 4-5 times a week.
Given all that I have been through, things that I don’t even remember, I feel I have come pretty far and want to continue getting “good/improved” scans. Speaking of scans, my next ones are the end of August. Fingers crossed the medicine is still working.
I am looking forward to my brother and his family coming out in a few weeks, and then my Mom and her friend Maria in August. I’ll be done radiation on Monday and taking a break until after all my visitors leave. Then I may start radiation on my left hip.

Hi Jen
What great news! You continue to beat the odds and keep fighting. Iβll continue to keep those prayers going and know that I think about you always. Have fun with Mike and family and your Mom and Maria. Love to you and Mark.
