Ended…

So I should have typed this over the weekend but it got away from me. I finished radiation on Friday 9/24 and I am super glad about that. This is the honest truth about my radiation, it sucked. First – I knew that I started on Monday but I had no idea how long each treatment would be and did not know how many treatments I’d receive. They had me scheduled Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which ended up being Monday – Friday, surprise! The first treatment I was on the radiation table for an hour:( You have to lay on this uncomfortable table with your arms strapped in/down so you don’t fall off the table, and then they put the mask that was molded to your face on and snap it in. The first day I tried to keep my eyes shut for the entire treatment but ended up opening them to see the head of the machine right by my eye, that’s was scary. Needless to say it was very uncomfortable, between the flat table and the hard mold that they rested your head on before putting your mask on.

Now it is over I have a break until 10/15 (my next treatments). So Mark’s Birthday is tomorrow and our Anniversary is Oct. 9th, so I planned a quick getaway Oct. 11th-13th. We are just driving over to Santa Cruz (the beach town) for a few days. It will be nice just to have a change of scenery.
