I came home from the hospital late Sat night (4/30) and have been recovering ok. Mark thought it was probably a night too early, but i wanted to get the hell out of there! My mom flew in to be with me and help out, but she left this past Friday. It was good having her here while she was here.
My face healed up pretty quickly, still some bruising and slight swelling but pretty good overall. My balance is still a bit off, but i’ve gone on a few walks… much shorter, slower walks but still getting outside.
I’ve met with my care team mostly as a follow up from my hospital stay. Nothing really new, same as before my accident — no real treatment options for my brain as the lesions are too numerous, and i’ve already been through full-brain radiation and two rounds of cyberknife. So now it’s more about quality of life and pain management… dealing with occasional pretty severe headaches and mid-upper back pain. I still get short-of-breath pretty easily, especially walking up the steps. It all pretty much sucks!
Last week, we went ahead and got admitted for hospice. So now we have access to a hospice case manager RN we can work with regularly. We’ll have to figure a check-in schedule, but it sounds like they’ll manage most everything from here on out. I have all my medical equipment ready here for when i’ll need it.
We’re discussing coming back east to be around friends and family, but i’m not sure if/when that might happen. I’m not really looking forward to traveling in my current condition, but we’ll see.

Hi Jen! It’s Saboe! Just wanted to say hello and to let you know I’m praying and thinking of you always. I remember that time we road out to Ship together to see Mike and the boys. Classic me crashing into the back of the car at the toll booth. 🤣. But it was a great road trip and I’m so glad we could share that time together. You keep fighting ok! Please feel free to reach out as I am here for you. Love you Jen❤️
